MEET AJA. MEET GIVE & TAKE.

Hello, beautiful
coffee people!

Aja started Give & Take to share her love of a well-made cup of coffee or tea. For her, coffee shops are that crucial “third space” for people to connect.

That kind of connection is part of what drew her to Charlottesville, and what she wanted to contribute to with Give & Take.

THE IDEA THAT STARTED IT ALL

How it started.

Aja’s love of cafés began when she was a college student and amateur artist in Northern Virginia. The friendships she made there stayed with her. She also met Michael, a regular who became her partner.

She started with a café on wheels. Give & Take has since grown into a larger home inside Main Street Market, but that original idea still shapes the shop.

Why “Give & Take”?

For Aja, the name reflects the balance and care in what we give and receive from each other.

As Aja writes in our menu: “The name says it all—we give our best to you, and you give this community its heart.”

Coffee, tea, and a welcome.

We choose beans from independent roasters, curate loose-leaf teas and ceremonial-grade matcha, and make house syrups with organic ingredients. Our baristas are here to help you find what you love, whether you have a favorite order or want to try something new.

Whether you stop in briefly or stay for a while, we hope your visit makes your day better.

SAME HEART. MORE ROOM.

A little cart.
A lot of love.

We’ve grown from the first corner of the Main Street Market into a larger space across the hall. Come see us in our new home!
